Kathedrale zum Hl. Peter und Paul / St. Peter and Paul's Pro Cathedral

Die heutige Kathedrale wurde in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts als Pfarrkirche von Ennis errichtet. Finanzielle Probleme und die Große Hungersnot ließen den Bau nur langsam vorankommen. Als der Bischof von Killaloe um 1890 beschloss, seinen Bischofssitz nach Ennis zu verlegen, wurde die Pfarrkirche vergrößert und war nun eine Pro-Kathedrale. In den 1930ern wurde die Kirche um zusätzliche Räume erweitert und die Orgel wurde installiert. Erst 1990 wurde die Kirche zur Kathedrale geweiht.
The present-day cathedral was erected in the first half of the 19th century as the parish church of Ennis. Financial problems and the Great Famine slowed down the building process. When the bishop of Killaloe moved the seat of his bishopric to Ennis in 1890, the parish church was enlarged and was now a pro-cathedral. In the 1930ies the church was extended by additional rooms and the pipe organ was installed. It was not before 1990 that the church was dedicated as a cathedral.
