Belvelly Castle (Béal an Bhealaigh - Mündung des Straßendamms) wurde im 12. Jahrhundert von der anglo-normannischen Familie Hodnett erbaut. 1329 wurde es von der rivalisierenden Familie de Barry erobert. In den nächsten Jahrhunderten hatte die Burg wechselnde Besitzer, unter anderem Sir Walter Raleigh. Im 19. Jahrhundert war die Burg schon lange nicht mehr bewohnt und verfallen. 2016 erstanden Gary und Anne Wilson die Burg bei einer Auktion und setzten sie wieder als private Wohnstätte instand.
Belvelly Castle (Béal an Bhealaigh - mouth of the roadway) was built in the 12th century by the Anglo-Norman family Hodnett. In 1329 the rivalling family de Barry conquered the castle. During the next centuries it had changing owners, among them the explorer Sir Walter Raleigh. In the 19th century the castle had long be uninhabited and fallen into ruins. In 2016 Gary and Anne Wilson purchased the castle during an auction and restored it as a private dwelling home.
