Die Christuskirche wurde 1172 vom Normannen Richard "Strongbow" de Clare erbaut, nach dem er die alte Kirche zerstört hatte. Ein Umbau Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts gab der Kathedrale ihr heutiges Aussehen. Bei unserem Besuch 2015 wird wieder renoviert. Die Christuskirche ist die zweitgrößte Kathedrale der Church of Ireland.
Die Christuskirche ist über einer Brücke mit der ehemaligen Synodenhalle verbunden, in der heute die Ausstellung Dublinia gezeigt wird.
Christ Church was built in 1172 by the Norman Richard "Strongbow" de Clare after he destroyed the old church. A reconstruction at the end of the 19th century gave the cathedral its current appearance. When we visit in 2015 another renovation is in progress. Christ Church is the second largest cathedral of the Church of Ireland.
Christchurch is connected by a bridge to the former Synod Hall in which today the exhibition Dublinia is shown.
