Am Cutom House Quay liegt eine Nachbildung der Jeanie Johnston vor Anker. Das originale Schiff transportierte zwischen 1847 und 1855 mehrere tausend Iren nach Nordamerika - ohne dass dabei ein einziges Leben verloren ging. (Eine Leistung des Kapitäns und des Schiffsdoktors, die nicht genug hervorgehoben werden kann, wenn wir bedenken, was wir sonst über Auswandererschiffe gelernt haben.)
On Custom House Quay moors a replication of the Jeanie Johnston. The original ship transported between 1847 and 1855 several thousands Irish passengers to North America - without the loss of a single live. (An achievement of the captain and the ship's doctor, which cannot be emphasized enough, considering what we learned about immigration ships in other places.)
