Während des Osteraufstandes in 1916 war die Mount Street Schauplatz eines der blutigsten Kämpfe. Neben der McKenny Brücke wurde ein Denkmal enthält, das an die Rebellen erinnert, die für die irische Freiheit kämpften und ihr Leben verloren.

During the Easter Rising in 1916 Mount Street was the location of one of the most bloody battles. Beside McKenny Bridge a memorial was erected to commemorate those rebels that fought and died for the freedom of Ireland.
