Ciarán Bourke (1935 - 1988) war ein Irish Folk Sänger und Musiker. Er wurde in Dublin geboren. 1962 gründete er mit Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna und Ronnie Drew die Band The Dubliners, erste Auftritte hatten sie in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin und wurden in den folgenden Jahren zur weltweit bekanntesten Irish Folk Band. Bourke sprach seit seiner Kindheit Irisch und sang daher auch die gälischen Lieder der Band.
Bourke verstarb an den Folgen eines Hirnaneurysma. Sein Grab liegt auf dem Friedhof von Bohernabreena, einem Vorort von Dublin, wo wir für ihn eine Kerze anzünden (gehe vom großen Parkplatz in der Mitte des Friedhofs auf dem rechten Weg aufwärts. Das Grab liegt auf der rechten Seite des Weges und ist mit einem gelben Rosenbusch geschmückt).

In 1962 he founded together with Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna and Ronnie Drew the band The Dubliners, their first performances they had in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin and in the years to follow became the best known Irish Folk band all over the world. Bourke spoke Irish since his childhood and therefore sang the Gaelic songs of the band.
Bourke died after suffering a brain aneurysm. His grave is on the cemetary of Bohernabreena, a suburb of Dublin, where we light a candle for him (from the big parking place in the middle of the cemetary follow the right path upwards. The grave is on the right hand side and decorated with a yellow rose bush).
