Die Brücke über den Cloon River wurde 1825 gebaut und wir schreiten hier auf Yeats Spuren, als wir sie vom Parkplatz zum Museum gehend überqueren. Rosemary, die freundliche Dame von der "Yeats Thoor Ballylee Gesellschaft", erzählt uns, dass der Fluss im Dezember 2015 so heftig über die Ufer trat, dass das Erdgeschoß des Turms etwa 1,5 Meter unter Wasser stand. Alle Möbel wurden dabei beschädigt, was eine komplette Renovierung notwendig machte. Seither werden die Möbel im Winter entfernt, alle elektrischen Steckdosen sind in einer Höhe von 2 Metern montiert.
Eine alte Brücke, und ein noch älterer Turm,
Ein Bauernhaus das von seiner Wand geschützt wird,

The bridge over the Cloon River was built in 1825 and we stride on Yeat's trail when we cross it walking from the parking place to the museum. Rosemary, the friendly lady from the "Yeats Thoor Ballylee Society", recounts that in December 2015 the river overflowed its banks so heavily that the ground floor of the tower stood about 1.5 metres under water. All pieces of furniture were damaged in the process and made a complete restoration necessary. Since then all furniture is removed during winter, all electrical sockets are mounted at the height of 2 metres.
An ancient bridge, and a more ancient tower,
A farmhouse that is sheltered by its wall,
An acre of stoney ground.
