1789 wurde der Zweig des Grand Canals nach Naas fertiggestellt, der für die nächsten 170 Jahre die Versorgung der Stadt mit Gütern sicherstellte. Es war geplant, dass der Kanal bis Kilcullen im Süden weitergeführt werden sollte, die Bauarbeiten kamen aber nur halb so weit bis Corbally Harbour (etwa 8 Kilometer).
In 1789 the branch of the Grand Canal to Naas was completed, securing the supply of the town with goods for the next 170 years. It was planned to continue the canal until Kilcullen in the south, but works came only half as far to Corbally Harbour (about 8 kilometres).
