Athy

Im Zentrum der Stadt Athy (Baile Átha) steht das im 16. Jahrhundert errichtete White's Castle; die Brücke daneben stammt vom Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. Neben dem Fluss Barrow führt ein Spazierweg entlang, der uns zu unserem eigentlichen Ziel bringt: Eines der Enden des Grand Canals.
In the centre of the town Athy (Baile Átha) stands White's Castle that was built in the 16th century; the bridge beside it dates back to the end of the 18th century. Along the Barrow River a small promenade leads us to our actual destination: One of the ends of the Grand Canal.
