Pike Bruecke / Pike Bridge

Östlich von Maynooth und beim Südausgang des Carton Anwesens überquert die Pike Brücke den Canal. Der Kanal ist hier breiter und hat eine Anlegestelle von der aus Carton Haus versorgt wurde. Dass auch die Eisenbahn bis nach Mullingar (An Muileann gCearr) am Kanal entlang fährt merken wir erst, als ein Zug an uns vorbei rauscht.

East of Maynooth and close to the south exit of Carton Demesne the canal is crossed by the Pike Bridge. The canal is broader here and has a wharf from which Carton House was served. That also the railway runs along the canal until Mullingar (An Muileann gCearr) we notice first when a train whooshes by with high speed.
