Ullard Kirche und Hochkreuze / Ullard Church and High Cross

(2019-10-06)

The church of Ullard (north of Graiguenamanagh (Gráig na Manach)) was built in the 12th century in Romanesque style, its western doorway is still in good condition. Above the doorway two decayed heads can be seen, which are supposed to represent the saints Mullin and Fiacre. At the backside of the church there is a high cross from the 9th century with biblical scenes, on which the tooth of time gnawed very heavily, too.
