Tralee

Tralee (Trá Lí - der Strand des Flusses Lee) wurde Anfang des 13. Jahrhundert vom Normannen John FitzThomas FitzGerald an einer alten Verkehrsroute gegründet. Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde die Stadt zur Vergeltung eines Aufstandes gegen die Englische Krone niedergebrannt. Auch Mitte und Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts wurde Tralee durch Feuer vernichtet. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das heutige Bild der Stadt festgelegt, aus dieser Zeit stammen z. B. Denny Street, das Gerichtsgebäude oder die Dominikaner Kirche zum Heiligen Kreuz. Heute ist Tralee die Hauptstadt der Grafschaft Kerry und hat eine sehr belebte Innenstadt, durch die wir genussvoll bummeln.

Wir wissen nicht aus welchem Jahr das Kirby's Brogue Inn ist, aber es ist das bunteste Haus in der inneren Stadt.

Tralee (Trá Lí - the beach of the Lee River) was founded at the beginning of the 13^th century by the Norman John FitzThomas FitzGerald at an old roadway. At the end of the 16^th century that town was burnt down in retribution for a rebellion against the English Crown. It was burnt down again in the middle and at the end of the 17^th century. The layout of today's town was set in the 19^th century, from this time come e.g. Denny Street, the courthouse or the Dominican church of the Holy Cross. Today Tralee is the capital of the County Kerry and has a very busy city, through which we stroll delightfully.

We do not know from which year Kirby's Brogue Inn comes, but it is by far the most colourful house of the city.
