Kathedrale zur Hl. Maria / St. Mary's Cathedral

Die Kathedrale der Hl. Maria wurde Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts von Augustus Pugin im neugotischen Stil entworfen und von 1842 bis 1855 erbaut (mit einer Unterbrechung während der Großen Hungersnot). Bei unsachgemäßen Renovierungsarbeiten in den 1970ern wurde die Innenausstattung schwer beschädigt. Uns sticht vor allem der mystisch-grün beleuchtete Tabernakel ins Auge.
St. Mary's Cathedral was designed in the 19th century by Augustus Pugin in Gothic Revival style and built from 1842 to 1855 (with an interruption during the Great Famine). Due to improper reconstruction works in the 1970s the interior was severely damaged. Our eyes are especially caught by the eerie-green light of the tabernacle.
