Kirche zum Hl. Jakob / St. James Church

Die alte katholische Kirche in Killorglin stammte aus dem späten 18. Jahrhundert. Ende des 19. Jahrhundert bemühte sich der damalige Pfarrer Thomas Lawlor um Spenden, damit eine neue Kirche an Stelle der alten gebaut werden konnte. 1891 wurde die neue Kirche im neugotischen Stil dem Hl. Jakob geweiht, obwohl sie noch nicht fertig gestellt worden war. Für den Kirchturm reichte das Geld bis heute nicht aus.
The old Catholic church in Killorglin dated back to the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the then priest Thomas Lawlor made great efforts to collect money for building a new church in place of the old one. In 1891 the new church built in neo-Gothic style was dedicated to St. James, although it was far from completed. To this day, there was not enough money to complete the steeple.
