Hoch über uns ragen die Macgillycuddy's Reeks (Na Cruacha Dubha - der schwarzen Haufen, benannt nach dem Irischen Klan Macgillicuddy) empor, deren höchste Gipfel, der Carrauntoohill (Corrán Tuathail), mit 1041 Metern über der See der höchste Punkt der Insel ist.

High above us tower the Macgillycuddy's Reeks (Na Cruacha Dubha - the black stack, named after the Irish clan Macgillicuddy). Its highest peak, the Carrauntoohill (Corrán Tuathail), is the highest point of the island with 1041 metres above sea.
