Sandy Beach

Im Norden der Stadt Castlegregory (Caisleán Ghriaire, benannt nach der Burg von Gregory Hoare aus dem 16. Jahrhundert) reicht eine Landzunge zwischen Brandon Bay und Tralee Bay weit in das Meer hinaus. Besonders der kleine Ort Sandy Beach ist ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Wassersportler. Wir genießen lieber einen Spaziergang auf einem Teil des Dingle Weges entlang des Sandstrandes, der sich bis in alle Ewigkeit dahinzuziehen scheint. (Zumindest genießen wir ihn, bis die ersten Regengüsse über uns niedergehen).

To the north of the town of Castlegregory (Caisleán Ghriaire, named after the castle of Gregory Hoare from the 16^th century) a spit of land between Brandon Bay and Tralee Bay reaches far into the sea. Especially the little place of Sandy Beach is a popular meeting point for water sports persons. We rather enjoy a walk on a part of the Dingle Way along the sandy beach that seems to stretch along for all eternity. (At least, we enjoy it until the first rain shower pours down on us.)
