Gebetshaus des Hl. Gallarus / Gallarus Oratory

Das Gebetshaus des Hl. Gallarus (südlich von Ballydavid (Baile na nGall)) wurde vor ca. 1300 Jahren in der Form eines umgedrehten Boots erbaut. Das etwa 8 x 5 x 5 Meter messende Gebäude wurde ohne Verwendung von Mörtel errichtet und hält seither dem Ansturm von Wetter, Wikingern und Touristen stand.
St. Gallarus' Oratory (south of Ballydavid (Baile na nGall)) was built about 1300 years ago in the shape of a turned-around boat. The approx. 8 x 5 x 5 metre building was erected without mortar and since then it stands firm against the onslaught of weather, Vikings and tourists.
