Saubere Stadt / Tidy Town

Seit 1958 wird jedes Jahr Irlands sauberste und attraktivste Stadt oder Gemeinde gesucht und von einem Preisgericht bewertet. 2015, 2016 und 2108 gewann Listowel in der Kategorie Kleinstadt, 2018 sogar den Gesamtpreis. Wir habe schon in vielen Städten eine Tafel oder Skulpturen zur Erinnerung an den Sieg im Bewerb gesehen, aber diese Bank an der Nordseite von The Square finden wir einfach am schönsten.
Since 1958 each year the cleanest and most attractive town or village of Ireland is sought after and assessed by a jury. In 2015, 2016 and 2018 Listowel won the award in the category small town, in 2018 even the over-all price. In many towns we have seen plaques or sculptures in reminiscence of the victory in this contest, but this bench at the north side of The Square we grade as the most beautiful one.
