Die alte Kirche in Rathcline (Ráth Claon, Ringfort auf dem Abhang) wird auf das 12. Jahrhundert datiert. Mehr Infos zur Geschichte der Kirche sind nicht zu finden.
Aber die Hauptattraktion ist sowieso die Sheela-na-Gig, die an der Kirche angebracht ist. Allerdings sind ihre Merkmale durch die Verwitterung von Jahrhunderten nur mehr schwach erkennbar. (Zu finden auf der linken Außenkante des Fensters im Bild unterhalb der Schräge.)
The old church of Rathcline (Ráth Claon, rath on the slope) is dated to the 12th century. No further info about the history of the church is to be found.
Anyway, the main attraction is the Sheela-na-Gig attached to the church. Alas its features are only faintly recognisable due to the weathering of centuries. (Can be found on the left outside edge of the window in the picture below the bevel.)
