Scallys Brücke wurde um 1815 beim Bau des Royal Canals errichtet. Benannt ist sie nach der Familie Scally, die ihr Land an die Erbauer des Kanals verkauften und mit dem Geld in die U.S.A. auswanderten.

Scally's Bridge was built around 1815 during the construction of the Royal Canal. It is named after the family Scally who sold their land to the Directors General of Inland Navigation and used the money to emigrate to the United States.
