Elfeet Turmhaus / Elfeet Castle

Am Weg vom Lough Ree nach Newtowncashel (Baile Nua an Chaisil, Neustadt des Steinforts) kommen wir bei den Ruinen der Elfeet Turmhauses vorbei. Das Turmhaus wurde im 14. Jahrhundert errichtet und wurde seither mehrfach umgebaut. Doch nur mehr zwei Seitenwände des Gebäudes sind heute noch erhalten geblieben.
On the way from Lough Ree to Newtowncashel (Baile Nua an Chaisil, new town of the stone fort) we pass the ruins of Elfeet Castle. The castle was built in the 14th century and has since been reconstructed several times. But only two sidewalls of the building remain to this day.
