Franziskanischer Glockenturm / Franciscan Bell Tower

Um 1240 wurde in Dundalk ein Franziskanerkloster gegründet. Das Kloster wurde 1315 von Robert the Bruce geplündert, aber wieder aufgebaut. In der Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde es endgültig von den Engländern zerstört, nur der Glockenturm blieb erhalten und ist das älteste Gebäude der Stadt.

Around 1240 a Franciscan friary was founded in Dundalk. The friary was plundered by Robert the Bruce in 1315, but reconstructed. In the middle of the 16th century it was terminally destroyed by the English, only the bell tower remains and is the oldest building of the town.
