Der aus Carrick-on-Shannon stammende Owen McCann (1851 - 1901) war der erste Vorsitzende des Leitrim Grafschaftsrates und Vorsitzender des Landbezirkes Carrick-on-Shannon. Zu seinem Gedenken wurde 1905 diese Uhr errichtet. Der Architekt war Eugene O'Neill Clarke (1867 - 1943).

Carrick-on-Shannon born Owen McCann (1851 - 1901) was the first chairman of the Leitrim County Council and chairman of the Carrick-on-Shannon Rural District Council. In his memory this watch was erected in 1905. The architect was Eugene O'Neill Clarke (1867 - 1943).
