Das Gebäude wurde in den 1880ern für als Filiale einer Bank errichtet. Dem roten Ziegelstein verdankt das Haus den Namen "Rote Bank" und er hebt es von den anderen Häuser in Carrick-on-Shannon ab, die verputzt oder aus grauem Stein sind. Seit 2020 wird die ehemalige Bank als Restaurant genutzt.

The building was constructed in the 1880ies as a branch office for a bank. The red brick stones gave the house the nickname "Red Bank" and distinguishes it from the other houses in Carrick-on-Shannan that are either rendered or made from grey stone. Since 2020 the former bank is used as a restaurant.
