Boolykeagh

In Boolykeagh in der Nähe von Longwood (Maigh Dearmahai) überquert der Kanal die Boyne mit Hilfe eines Aquäduktes. Eine nette Dame, die den Vormittag scheinbar damit verbringt auf den Briefträger zu warten, damit sie ihm die Post mitgeben kann, erklärt uns, dass der mit Schranken verschlossene Parkplatz für alle zugänglich ist, und zeigt uns wie das Schrankenschloss aufgeht.

Wir gehen ein Stück am Kanal entlang und haben einen guten Blick auf die Boyne von oben. Sie rinnt von hier nach Trim und später an den großen Hügelgräbern vorbei.

In Boolykeagh near Longwood (Maigh Dearmahai) the canal crosses the Boyne River using an aqueduct. A nice lady, who seems to spend her morning waiting for the postman to give him the post, explains to us that the parking places that are latched with a gate are accessible for everyone and shows us how the lock of the gate can be opened.

We walk along the canal und have a good view upon the Boyne from above. It runs from here to Trim and later passes the great Megalithic passage tombs.
