The Mall

Die Promenade (The Mall) ist einer der zentralen Plätze in Castlebar. Um ihn herum stehen wichtige Gebäude, wie das Gerichtsgebäude (erbaut in den 1830ern, im Bild rechts hinten mit den Dorischen Säulen), die Christuskirche (erbaut in den 1740ern), das Ratsgebäude der Grafschaft Mayo, die Bibliothek und die Gardastation. Auf dem Platz stehen ein Brunnen und eine Statue der mythischen Figur namens Manannan (im Bild in der Mitte hinter den Blumen).

The Mall is one of the central squares in Castlebar. Around it there are important buildings, like the Courthouse (built in the 1830s, on the right side of the picture with the Doric columns), the Christ Church (built in the 1740s), the County Mayo Council, the library and the garda station. On the square there is a fountain and a statue of the mythical figure of Manannan (in the middle of the picture behind the flowers).
