Lough Levally

(2015-07-17)

Lough Levally (Loch an Chrainn Chrín) lies almost inconspicuous in Glen Nephin, between the mountain Nephin and Lough Conn (Loch Con). Twelve years have passed since we had been in Mayo for the last time, but immediately we remember all reasons, why here the most beautiful part of Ireland begins: Cloud-hidden mountains, little white houses scattered throughout the landscape, the lonesome shores of the lakes. Almost lonesome. As soon as we arrive a flock of hungry ducks beg for food. But we have learned from similar happenings and have a piece of bread from the breakfast with us.

In 2015 there are no more ducks here. But everything else still remains.
