Annagh - Killadangan

Östlich von Murrisk (Muraisc) liegt die Station 5 des Clew Bay Archaeological Trail auf einer Salzmarsch. Sie wird als Annagh (Eanach - Marschland) und Killadangan (Choill an Daingin - der Wald der Festung) Archäologischer Komplex beschrieben. Er stammt vermutlich aus der Bronzezeit und umfasst mehrere Bauwerke, wobei wir uns nicht sicher sind, ob wir alle richtig deuten. Diese Grube könnte die Kochstelle (fulacht fiadh) sein. Beim Kochen wurden Steine erhitzt und danach in eine Grube mit Wasser geworfen; im heißen Wasser wurde das erlegte Tier gekocht.
East of Murrisk (Muraisc) there is station 5 of the Clew Bay Archaeological Trail on a salt marsh. It is described as Annagh (Eanach - marsh land) and Killadangan (Choill an Daingin - the forest of the fort) Archaeological Complex. It most likely dates back to the Bronze Age and consists of several monuments, although we are not quite sure whether we interpret everything correctly. This hollow could be the cooking place (fulacht fiadh). For cooking stones were heated, then thrown into a hollow with water; in the hot water the killed animal was cooked.
