Kilbeggan Bruecke / Kilbeggan Bridge

Als der Grand Canal nach 1800 von Tullamore bis Shannon Harbour verlängert wurde, war es notwendig Brücken für die beiden Straßen nach Norden zu bauen. Auf einer Karte von 1838 wird die Brücke am Ende der William Street (heute Columcille Street) als "Pound Brücke" bezeichnet. 1930 wurde die alte Steinbrücke durch eine Betonkonstruktion ersetzt und in Kilbeggan Brücke umbenannt (siehe OFIAR-017-016 im Offaly Brücken Dokument).
When the Grand Canal was extended from Tullamore to Shannon Harbour after 1800, it was necessary to built bridges for the two roads going north. On a map from 1838 the bridge at the end of William Street (today Columcille Street) is called "Pound Bridge". In 1930 the old stone bridge was replaced by a concrete structure and renamed to Kilbeggan Bridge (look for OFIAR-017-016 in the Offaly Bridges document).
