Der Bauherr Thomas Acres ließ sich 1786 einen Wohnsitz im klassizistischen Stil errichten, das nach ihm Acres Hall genannt wurde. Bis zu seinem Tod 1836 war Acres maßgeblich an der Entwicklung der Stadt beteiligt. Das Haus blieb im Familienbesitz, bis es in den 1980ern vom Tullamore Stadtrat gekauft wurde. Es wurde renoviert und ist seit 1992 das Rathaus von Tullamore.
In 1786 the building developer Thomas Acres had himself built a residence in neoclassical style that was named after him Acres Hall. Until his death in 1836 Acres was significantly involved in the development of the town. The house stayed a family property until it was bought by the Tullamore City Council in the 1980ies. It was renovated and is since 1992 the town hall of Tullamore.
