Methodisten Kirche / Methodist Church

The erste Methodisten Kirche in Roscommon wurde 1820 gebaut. Sie wurde nach dem Neubau einer Kirche in den 1900ern verkauft und danach für verschiedene Zwecke verwendet. Die neue Kirche wurde am 30. April 1905 eingeweiht und bot Platz für 80 Gläubige. Die Anzahl der Methodisten ging jedoch stetig zurück und 1961 wurde das Gebäude an St. Comán's Church-of-Ireland verkauft. Es wird seither als Gemeindezentrum und Veranstaltungsort unter dem Namen The CORE verwendet.
The first Methodist church in Roscommon was built in 1820. It was sold after a new church had been constructed in the 1900ies and was used for various purposes afterwards. The new church was consecrated on April 30th, 1905 and had room for 80 believers. However the number of Methodists was steadily dwindling and in 1961 the building was sold to St. Comán's Church-of-Ireland. Since then it is in use as a community centre and venue named The CORE.
