Cloch Fhada na gCarn (C4)

Cloch Fhada na gCarn (Langer Stein der Grabhügel, Nummer 4 auf der Carns Route) steht auf einem Feld abseits der Straße, ist aber gerade noch sichtbar. Der Menhir ist etwa 3 Meter hoch und steht in der Mitte eines Ringwalls. Es gibt keine Berichte, nicht einmal Legenden, warum der Stein aufgestellt wurde. Er und zwei weitere Menhire in der Umgebung werden jedoch mit einer Episode aus der Vita Tripartita (einer dreiteilige Hagiographie des Hl. Patricks) in Zusammenhang gebracht, nach der der Hl. Patrick in drei Steine von Rathcroghan das Wort "Erlöser" geritzt haben soll.

Cloch Fhada na gCarn (Long Stone of the Cairn, number 4 of the Carns Route) stands on a field away from the road and is just visible. The standing stone is about 3 metres high and stands in the middle of a ring cairn. There are no reports, not even legends, why this stone was erected. It and two other standing stones in the vicinity are however contextualised with an episode from the Vita Tripartita (a three-parted hagiography of St. Patrick) telling that St. Patrick inscribed three stones in Rathcroghan with the word "Savior".
