Keadew

Lough Meelagh

(2015-07-14)

West of Keadew (Céideadh) lies Lough Meelagh (Loch Míolach - Lake of the marsh), which is with 116 hectares one of the smaller lakes we visit. But there is a parking place with a display panel - maybe there is a hint of the grave? Actually, there is a hint, though not for the grave we are looking for but for a much older megalithic tomb inside the forest. The display panel tells us that there are several crannogs on the lake (e.g. on the picture the group of trees near the end of the pier). Crannogs are artificial isles that were used to live upon.
