Boyle Abbey wurde im 12. Jahrhundert als Zisterzienser Kloster gegründet. Interessant ist, dass die Kirche in der Übergangszeit zwischen Romanik und Gotik entstand, sodass auf einer Seite des Hauptschiffes Rundbögen und auf der anderen Seite Spitzbögen zu finden sind.

Boyle Abbey was founded in the 12th century as Cistercian monastery. It is interesting that the church was built during the transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic period, so that on one side of the nave rounded arches can be found and on the other side pointed arches.
