Südlich des Ortes liegt das Anwesen von Ashford, das die Familie Guinness im 19. Jahrhundert errichten ließ. Mittelpunkt ist Ashford Castle, im neugotischen Stil mit Türmen und Zinnen erbaut. In die Fassade sind Reste einer Burg aus dem 13. Jahrhundert einbezogen. Heute ist es ein vornehmes Schlosshotel, in das nur Gäste eingelassen werden. Der wunderbare, weitläufige Park hingegen ist allen zugänglich und wir machen auch ausgiebig Gebrauch davon.

In the south of the village the estate of Ashford is located, which was built by the family of Guinness in the 19^th century. The centre is Ashford Castle, built in neo-gothic style with towers and pinnacles. The facade includes remains of a castle from the 13^th century. Today it is a very exclusive palace hotel, and only residing guests are welcome to enter its halls. The wonderful vast park is publicly accessible and we use this possibility amply.
