Killycluggin Stone

Der Killycluggin Stein ist leicht zu finden - er ist direkt neben der Straße (R205 südlich von Ballyconnell).
Allerdings ist er nur eine Nachbildung des Originals, das zur La-Tène-Zeit (5. bis .1 Jh. v.Chr.) entstand. Der Stein ist auf allen vier Seiten mit Mustern bedeckt (größere Bilder der Nordseite, Ostseite, Südseite und Westseite), über deren Bedeutung nur spekuliert werden kann.
Er ist einer von wenigen La-Tène-Steine die in Irland zu finden sind (siehe auch Themenindex).

The Killycluggin stone is easy to find - it is directly beside the road (R205 south of Ballyconnell).
Alas, it is only a recreation of the original that was made during the La-Tène time (5^th to1^st century B.C.). The stone is engraved on all four sides (larger pictures of the north side, east side, south side and west side), about their meaning can only be speculated.
It is one of a few La-Tène stones that can be found in Ireland (see also the topic index).
