Dublin City: Merrion Square

Merrion Square gilt als Juwel des Wohnarchitektur im "Georgian Style". Da das Aussehen der Häuserfassaden vorgeschrieben war, gestalteten die Bewohner die Türen ihrer Häuser nach eigenem Geschmack, um sich wenigstens so unterscheiden zu können.

Merrion Square is the jewel of architecture in Georgian Style. As the look of the fronts was dictated, the residents decorated the doors of their houses after their own taste, to distinguish themselves from their neighbours, at least in this detail.
