Dublin City: North Bull Island

Von Clontarf aus führt ein alter hölzerner Steg auf North Bull Island. Vom Steg aus können wir die Stadt sehr schön sehen, sogar die Gipfeln der Wicklow Mountains zeichnen sich am Horizont ab. Auf der Insel geht der Steg in eine Uferstraße über, beide zusammen sind etwa 1,5 km lang. Der Wind ist fast still und so rauschen die Wellen nur sanft gegen das Ufer. Wir atmen die feuchte und salzige Meeresluft tief ein.
Auf der Insel gibt es scheinbar nur wenige Häuser - wo wollen aber all die Autos hin, die uns am Weg überholen? Mehr...

From Clontarf an old wooden bridge crosses to North Bull Island. From the bridge we have a good view of the city, even the peaks of the Wicklow Mountains loom on the horizon. On the island the bridge merges into a coast road, both together are almost one mile in length. The wind is almost calm and so the waves ripple only softly against the shore. We deeply inhale the humid and salty sea air.
On the island there are only a few houses - where are all the cars going that pass us along the way? More...
