Athy

Im Zentrum der Stadt steht das im 16. Jahrhundert errichtete White's Castle; die Brücke daneben stammt vom Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. Neben dem Fluß Barrow führt ein Spazierweg entlang, der uns zu unserem eigentlichen Ziel bringt: Eines der Enden des Grand Canals.

In the centre of the town there stands White's Castle erected in the 16^th century; the bridge beside it dates back to the end of the 18^th century. Along the river Barrow a small promenade leads us to our actual destination: One of the ends of the Grand Canals.
