Die Seen von Killarney / The Lakes of Killarney

Um die drei Seen von Killarney (dem Upper Lake, dem Muckross Lake und dem Lough Leane) wurde ein Naturschutzgebiet errichtet, das sich von Killarney bis weit in den Süden erstreckt. Auf über hundert Quadratkilometern, bedeckt mit Wäldern und Seen, lebt hier eine Vielzahl von Wildtieren, wie Irische Rothirsche oder Wildziegen. Viele Wege laden ein, die Landschaft in Ruhe zu genießen - und wem das zu weit ist, kann sich mit einer der vielen zweirädrigen Kutschen fahren lassen.

Around the three lakes of Killarney (the Upper Lake, the Muckross Lake and the Lough Leane) a national park was founded, going from Killarney far to the south. On an area of over one hundred square kilometres, covered with forests and lakes, live a large variety of wild animals, like the Irish red deer or wild goats. Many paths invite to enjoy the landscape leisurely - and those, who do not like to walk so far, could always let themselves be carried by one of the many jaunting cars.
