Bantry House

Bantry House - etwas außerhalb von Bantry plaziert - ist ein prächtiges Herrenhaus aus dem Jahre 1750. Obwohl es in Privatbesitz ist, ist es doch für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Die Innenausstattung soll vom erlesenen Geschmack der ehemaligen Besitzer zeugen. Wir steigen lieber die mehr als 100 Stufen an der Rückseite des Hauses hinauf, um die wunderbare Aussicht auf Bantry Bay und Whiddy Island zu genießen, und wandeln durch die weitläufigen Gärten und Wälder.

Bantry house - located a short way off Bantry - is a splendid mansion built in 1750. Although it is private property, it is open for the public. The furnishings is said to bear testimony to the exquisite taste of the former owners. We rather climb up the more than 100 stairs at the backside of the house, to enjoy the wonderful view of Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island, and promenade through the extensive gardens and woods.
