Desmond Castle stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und liegt direkt an dem kleinen Fluss Maigue, über den eine schmale Brücke aus dem 15. Jahrhundert führt. Leider ist das Schloss bei unserem Besuch wegen Renovierung nicht besichtigbar. Ganz im Bildhintergrund ist noch die Kirche des Hl. Nicholas zusehen - aber auch hier versperrt uns ein Golfplatz den Zutritt.
Desmond Castle is dated back to the 13th century and lies on the banks of the river Maigue, over which a bridge dating back even to the 15th century leads. Alas, the castle is closed for renovation when we arrive. At the background of the picture the church of St. Nicholas can be seen - but also here a golf course blocks our access.
