New Ross

Die älteste Siedlung auf dem Gebiet von New Ross ist ein Kloster aus dem 6. Jahrhundert (an der Stelle wo heute St. Mary's Abbey steht). Im 13. Jahrhundert ließ Isabella de la Clare eine Brücke über den Fluß Barrow bauen; das führte zur Gründung der Stadt. The oldest settlement on the area of New Ross is a cloister from the 6^th century (at the location where now there is St. Mary's Abbey). In the 13^th century Isabella de la Clare had a bridge built across the river Barrow, which lead to the founding of the town.
