Strandhill

Am Ende der Halbinsel, auf dem der Berg Knocknaree steht, liegt der Badeort Strandhill (An Leathros). Wir haben mit dem Wetter Glück - die Sonne scheint und es ist richtig warm. Es sind daher viele Leute unterwegs, am Parkplatz direkt am Strand finden wir gerade noch eine Parklücke. Wir schauen uns in den Geschäften und Lokalen entlang der Strandpromenade um, und wandern dann über die Dünen in die Richtung des Leuchtturms, der am Horizont zu sehen ist.

At the end of the peninsula, on which Knocknaree Mountain stands, lies the bathing resort Strandhill (An Leathros). We get lucky with the weather - the sun is shining and it is really warm. Therefore many people are underway, on the parking place directly at the beach we find just one free slot. We have a look around the shops and bars along the beach promenade, and then walk over the dunes towards the light tower that can be seen at the horizon.
