Tipperary

Tipperary (Tiobraid Árann - die Quelle der Arra) wurde im 12. Jahrhundert als Anglo-Normannische Siedlung am Fluss Arra gegründet. Im Excel Heritage Centre gibt es eine Ausstellung zur Geschichte der Hauptstadt der nach ihr benannten Grafschaft. Es enthält unter anderem noch Kinos, ein Theater und Galerien, was Tipperary auch zum kulturellen Zentrum der Gegend macht.

Wir brauchen 18 Jahre von unserem ersten Besuch in Irland, bis wir auch in diese Stadt kommen - das war ein ziemlich langer Weg nach Tipperary.

Tipperary (Tiobraid Árann - the well of the Arra) was founded in the 12^th century as Anglo-Norman settlement on the Arra River. The Excel Heritage Centre holds an exhibition about the history of the capital of the county named after it. And it has cinemas, a theatre and galleries, which make Tipperary also the cultural centre or the area.

It takes us 18 years from our first visit in Ireland to our first visit in this town - that was a rather long way to Tipperary.
