Vom Friedhof aus ist die Hore Abbey gut sichtbar. Ein Fußweg führt hinunter und nach nur wenigen Minuten stehen wir vor den Überresten des von Benediktinern im 13. Jahrhundert gegründeten Kloster. Erzbischof David MacCearbhaill übertrug wenige Jahrzehnte später die Abtei an die Zisterzienser und trat später selbst in das Kloster ein.

From the churchyard we have a good view of Hore Abbey. A small path leads downwards, and a few minutes later we stand before the relicts of this monastery, founded in the 13^th century by Benedictine monks. Archbishop David MacCearbhaill gave the abbey to the Cistercian order a few decades later and entered the monastery himself.
