La-Tène Steine / La-Tène Stones
In Irland wurde drei Steine gefunden, die Muster aufwiesen mit denen sie in die Zeit der La-Tène-Kultur (450 v. Chr. bis ins 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.) datiert wurden. Die La-Tène-Kultur folgte auf die Hallstattkultur und breitete sich in der gesamten keltischen Welt und darüber hinaus aus. Sie endete nachdem die Römer die keltischen Gebiete erobert und in das römische Reich eingegliedert hatten.
Die Steine selbst stehen heute in Museen, aber an der originalen Fundstelle wurden Repliken aufgestellt.
In Ireland three stones were found that feature patterns dating them to the time of the La-Tène culture (450 B.C. to the 1st century B.C.). The La-Tène culture followed the Hallstadt culture and spread over the whole Celtic world and beyond. It ended after the Romans had conquered the Celtic territories and had incorporated them into the Roman Empire.
The stones themselves are stored in museums, but on the original finding place replica have been set out.
