In Irland gibt es nicht nur einige Nationalparks und zahlreiche Naturschutzgebiete, sondern es wurden speziell in Städten Grünanlagen und kleine Parks für die Naherholung geschaffen. In vielen Fällen wurde das Anwesen ehemaliger Herrenhäuser als Park der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Die Grenzlinie zu den Gärten ist daher sehr unscharf.
In Ireland there are not only several National Parks and numerous nature reserves, but especially in cities additional green spaces and parks were created for local recreation. In many cases the premises of former mansions were opened to the public as park. Therefore the borderline to gardens is rather fuzzy.
