Hochkreuz / High Cross

Auf dem Friedhof neben der Kirche steht ein Hochkreuz - eigentlich ist es nur der Kopf eines Hochkreuzes, das irgendwann auf einen Betonsockel gestellt wurde. Das erklärt auch die für ein Hochkreuz nicht gerade überwältigende Höhe von 1,2 Metern. Das Kreuz ist nicht verziert und wird auf eine Zeit vor dem 12. Jahrhundert datiert, gehörte daher zum alten Kloster.
On the graveyard beside the church there is a high cross - actually it is just the head of a high cross that at some stage was mounted on a concrete shaft. Which explains the height of 1.2 metres, which is not very overwhelming for a high cross at all. The cross is not decorated and is dated to a time before the 12th century, so it belonged to the old monastery.
