The Square

Der dreieckige Hauptplatz "The Square" ist das Zentrum der Stadt. Um ihn herum wurde alles gebaut, was eine Stadt im 19. Jahrhundert (und auch heute noch) benötigte: Die Kirche, Geschäfte, Pubs und Wohnhäuser.
Der Brunnen am Platz ist mit den Skulpturen von vier Schwänen verziert, die die Kinder des Lir darstellen.
Ein mit Efeu überwachsenes Haus fällt uns besonders auf. Es wurde um 1820 gebaut und gehört zu den ältesten Häusern der Stadt.
The triangular "The Square" is the centre of the town. Around it everything that a town of the 19th century needed (and still needs) was built: The church, shops, pubs and residential buildings.
The fountain on the square is decorated with a sculpture of four swans, representing the Children of Lir.
A house overgrown with ivy especially catches out eyes. It was built around 1820 and belongs to the oldest houses of the town.
